The Last Night singer found himself in a spot of trouble when he threw a chair off the rooftop of a bar and was taken into custody by Nashville police. He was charged with three counts of reckless endangerment and spent seven days in a DUI education centre.
Appearing on the This Past Weekend podcast, Wallen shared that he hasn't been in a bar since.
"It's definitely the best thing for me, you know. I ain't been in a bar since the last time I was in a bar that everybody knows about. The most public time I was in a bar, that's the last time I was in a bar."
He explained that his decision to stay away from the spotlight centred around learning to deal with stardom.
"I think anyone who was to deal with that, it's not ideal... you know, it's not ideal to go everywhere, and even if you don't get bothered, you were on edge the whole time because you thought you might. It's like, there's just things that you don't do. You just don't do them anymore."
The country star has instead found peace in the great outdoors and has taken up hunting to enjoy some time away from the cameras.
"I can go be with my buddies, I'm in the middle of nowhere, I can be at ease, I can not stress out."
