Alessia Cara Crowns Hot R&B Songs Chart With Here

The newcomer's debut hit leads another Billboard list. Plus, Travi$ Scott tops Rhythmic Songs with "Antidote." Alessia Cara's proud anti-partying pop/R&B hit "Here" tops another Billboard tally, as her introductory single rises 2-1 in its 30th week on the Hot R&B Songs chart (dated Jan. 9). It was on Hot R&B Songs that Cara made her first Billboard chart appearance, when "Here" debuted (at No. 18) on the survey dated June 13. A week later, the aloofness anthem entered the Billboard + Twitter Emerging Artists chart (at No. 4). It became her first Billboard No. 1 when it led the latter list for two weeks beginning Aug. 15. The track also led R&B Digital Songs and Rhythmic Songs (marking Cara's first No. 1 on an airplay chart), for two weeks each. As previously reported, "Here" hits a new high on the Billboard Hot 100, lifting 8-7. It holds at No. 3 on Radio Songs (116 million audience impressions, down 2 percent, according to Nielsen Music) and No. 19 on Streaming Songs (7.4 million U.S. streams, down 4 percent) and bounds 20-13 on Digital Songs (52,000 sold, up 35 percent). "Here" is from Cara's debut full-length album, Know-It-All, which debuted (and peaked) at No. 9 on the Billboard 200 dated Dec. 5. "I like the idea of people being fascinated by my tales," the 19-year-old Canadian told Billboard. Meanwhile, Travi$ Scott travels to the top of Rhythmic Songs with "Antidote" (4-1). The cut dethrones Post Malone's "White Iverson" (1-4), which last week unseated Cara's "Here" (2-3 this week). With all three songs marking the first entries for each act on the chart, Rhythmic Songs boasts three consecutive rookie No. 1s for the first time in more than six years.
